It focuses to raises awareness that consumer rights are an essential expression of every person as a consumer. Every year, World Consumer Rights Day is celebrated on March 15 to acknowledge and recognize the rights of consumers. The day raises global awareness about consumer rights, consumer protection and empowerment.

The World Consumer Rights Day was first observed on March 15, 1983, to commemorate the historic speech given by US President John F. Kennedy in 1962 to the US Congress to uphold consumer rights. Know the four rights he had outlined.
